Love at First Sight
Though their relationship got off to an odd start these two ended up as best friends. Nuriko feigned love for Tamahome to create jealousy in Miaka so she would pay attention to Tama-chan. So in turn Poor Hotohori would be left lonely in need of a comforter. What a manipulator. Well as you all know (unless you haven't seen the first video tape) that didn't go over well. Miaka and Tamahome wound up getting together with out Nuriko's help anyway. But Hotohori did not fall for our sweet Nuriko. But this is not where the story ends. Though he says that as a man he loves Miaka and as a woman he loves Hotohori there is a special relationship that he has with Tamahome.
Did it Happen?
Yes Nuriko and Tamahome's romantic relationship lasted all of 2 days. One of which Tamahome spent all day tied up in Nuriko's Bed Chambers (hint hint)
Could it have lasted?
Well it wasn't a real relationship. Nuriko was in love with Hotohori and, though Tamahome was happy to find out one of the Suzaku Seishi was both beautiful and interested in him; Nuriko killed any romantic affection Tama could have had for him by smothering him to death. Besides, Tamahome said that Nuriko wasn't his type. (Of course at the time Nuriko was masquerading as his sister, but eventually they ended up having a lasting brotherly relationship)
